How Data Is Shared
Shipment Information Received
A shipment is defined by your customer and is sent to project44. project44 validates the shipment information and the data sharing authorization between you and your customer. This information includes:
-
Date/Time of the shipment.
-
Places of loading/unloading and additional stops, if any.
-
License plate of the asset in charge of the shipment.
Time Validated
Monitoring of the shipment starts during a defined time frame: usually 90 minutes before the planned pick-up time.
Shipment Initiated
project44 starts sharing the location of the vehicle assigned to the shipment with the customer, when the vehicle is approaching the pick-up location and is entering the outer geofence around the loading place (usually a 50-km radius). Tracking is not initiated until the following conditions are met: the right vehicle is at the right place within the right timeframe window.
Shipment Completed
Data sharing stops as soon as the vehicle departs after final delivery at the unloading location, when the driver is recorded driving out of the delivery geofence. If the driver stays within the delivery geofence, the shipment will be considered as completed and we'll stop sharing the location of the vehicle with the customer (usually after 3 hours).
If a vehicle misses a stop or any other unforeseen event occurs, data sharing will eventually always timeout and terminate.
Carriers can share their whole fleet 24/7 with project44 as project44 handles the opening and closing of the tracking with customers automatically based on the shipment details received. This means that no manual action is required from carriers once their fleet is connected with project44.
Any data project44 receives from the vehicles which haven’t been assigned to any shipment is not shared by project44.
