FedEx Freight (LTL) - FXFE & FXNL
Gathering API Credentials
To start, you'll need to have an account with FedEx Freight.
If you do not have an account, navigate to https://www.fedexfreight.com/ and select Sign Up at the top right corner of the page.
If you are unsure of your FedEx Freight account information, please reach out to your FedEx Freight Sales Representative for support.
If you do not have or do not know who your FedEx Freight Sales Representative is, then call the FedEx Freight Customer Support line for assistance: 1(866)393-4585
FedEx Freight LTL API Requirements
- FedEx Freight Shipper Account Number (if not Third Party)
- FedEx Freight Bill To Account Number (if Third Party)
- FedEx Freight Bill To Mailing Address
Uploading API Credentials
Load your organization's credentials into the project44 Capacity Provider Accounts portal. For help with the process, see Carrier Credentials Help.
After selecting FedEx from the capacity provider screen, click on 'Add Account'.
You will see options to set up one of the following account types:
- Standard Account (LTL)

Volume LTL Rating Account
- To set up a volume LTL rating account, follow the instructions linked here: Fedex Freight (volumeLTL Rating) - FXFE.
- Parcel Account
For LTL, you will want to select the option for Standard Account.
For Standard Account credentials, you will be required to entire at least one FedEx Freight account number and Billing Information to gain access to the APIs:
- Account Number Options:
- Freight Account Number = FedEx Freight Shipper Account Number (if not Third Party)
- Freight Bill To Account Number = FedEx Freight Bill To Account Number (if Third Party)
- Billing Information
- Bill-To Address = FedEx Freight bill to mailing address
- Direction
- Payment Type
Note for Bill-To Address: FedEx uses the address added here to verify the account being used. Please ensure the address entered matches the account number and account type.
- For Shipper Accounts, the address should either be the address of the Shipper or Consignee of the shipment.
- For Bill To Accounts, the address should be the mailing address where invoices are sent.
