Task Management in the Dock Console

Create or cancel a Pull, Spot, or Bump task in the Dock Console. There are two places in the Dock Console where you can create a task:

  1. From the dock door in the Dock Group view.

  2. From the load type list.

Create a Pull Task

To create a Pull task for a trailer at a dock door,

  1. Find the dock door your want to create a Pull task for. Click PULL

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: add the Commodity.

    Note

    When creating a PULL task, the status is automatically changed to the opposite status (for example, loaded to empty or empty to loaded). This can be changed by the user.

  3. Click Pull.

  4. The Pull task button and the Dock Door card border are highlighted when the task is created.

You can create a Pull task for a live pickup in the LIVE PICKUP list. To create a Pull task for a trailer not at a dock door,

  1. Open the LIVE PICKUP list and find the appropriate load. Click PULL.

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: add the Commodity.

  3. Click Pull.

  4. The Pull task button and the Dock Door card border are highlighted when the task is created.

Create a Spot Task

To create a Spot task for a trailer at a dock door,

  1. Find the dock door you want to create a Spot task for. Click SPOT.

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: add the Trailer number.

  3. Click Spot.

  4. Once assigned, the Spot task is highlighted for the dock door.

You can create a Spot task for a live pickup in the LIVE PICKUP list or a drop pickup in the DROP PICKUP list.To create a Spot task for a trailer not at a dock door,

  1. Open the load type list and find the appropriate trailer. Click SPOT.

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: choose the Dock Door.

  3. Click Spot.

  4. Once assigned, the Spot task is highlighted for the dock door the trailer was assigned to.

Create a Bump Task

To create Bump task for a trailer at a dock door,

  1. Find the dock door you want to create a Bump task for. Click BUMP.

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: choose the Status.

  3. Click Bump.

  4. Once assigned, the Bump task is highlighted for the dock door.

You can create a Bump task for a live pickup in the LIVE PICKUP list. This moves the live pickup to a parking spot. To create a Bump task for a trailer not at a dock door,

  1. Find the trailer in the LIVE PICKUP list. Click BUMP.

  2. Complete all required information indicated by a red asterisk: choose the Status.

  3. Click Bump.
