Product Update: Q4 2018
Our team came back from the holidays energized and ready to ship some updates. You may have noticed some of the best ones already
More ways to filter and segment shipment details
We added the ability to integrate data for Region, Customer Segment, and Direction on the Shipment Details record. All of these new fields allow you to ingest data from your Order Feed and Convey will match with the appropriate shipment(s). It can then be used to filter, sort, and search for shipments according to these new dimensions for further analysis.
- Region: Can be used to segment orders by things like carrier hub code, internal region identifiers, or the conventional geographic identifiers as well. Mostly, shippers have been using this field to help assign exception workflows to individuals or teams in their customer support organizations.
- Customer Segment: Can be used to filter orders by customer segment, such as “VIP”, high LTV, “New,” or something similar. Have fun with this one to provide custom notifications and outreach flows to customers by their segment to help grow revenue.
- Direction: This is useful for separating Inbound (i.e. returns), outbound, and third party shipments out so that delivery performance metrics can be refined according to different needs and priorities. This is especially useful if you have a lot of returns or rely on subscription orders.
- BONUS! Promise Date:You now have the ability to view the original in-cart Promise Date for a shipment in the Convey Shipment details. This data will also feed a future Carrier Performance trend that can be used to evaluate delivery performance compared to customer expectations for different carriers or service levels.
In order to start using this data, you need to follow the guidelines in our Developer Documentation about integrating your order feed. You can also connect with your Convey Client Partner (or email support@getconvey.com) to start implementing this in your order feed.
Google Map Links to Shipment Addresses
Many users have described how they use Google Maps to verify addresses when an Address exception occurs. We did some integration magic* to make this as easy as a single click on a link. Now you can view the address (if it works) and get more insight into what is missing.
*Our engineers would like me to tell you it was actual engineering, not magic.
Customer Tracking Page Improvements
The following features are not currently included in our standard implementation and will incur additional professional service charges if you would like to implement them.
Proof of Delivery Pictures: If your carrier supports POD pictures via API, Convey can now ingest these pictures and add them automatically to a tracking page when a delivery is made to an address where nobody was home. Amazon Compete!
Localization: Customers can now localize tracking pages for different languages.
ADA Compatibility: Text to speech conversion requires some additional infrastructure, which Convey tracking pages can now support.
Expanded ad units: Convey now supports up to three more ad units at the bottom of the tracking page.
Please reach out if you would like to learn more about these features, if you have ideas for what else we should build, or if you want to chat about other things we have planned.
Cheers,
The Convey Team
