Configure Parking Spot Rules for Arriving Shipments
Configure parking spot rules to get parking recommendations when arriving a shipment with the Gate Console. Parking spot rules can also be created for moving a shipment within a yard or carrying out a pull task. For more information on parking rules for task management, see Configure Parking Spot Rules for Task Management.
Parking spot recommendations are based on asset properties including status (empty or loaded), condition, carrier, and trailer type.
To create a parking spot rule specific to gate operations,
-
Task > Configuration > Parking Rules.
-
Parking spot rules are specific to each site. Select the site in the drop-down menu to configure parking spot rules for the correct site.
-
Click Add Rule.
-
Create the rule.
-
Rule Type refers to the action the parking rule applies to: yard move (a move within the yard), gate (arrival at the gate), pull (pull task).
-
Sequence defines the priority level for rules that may overlap.
-
In the Trailer Information section, add the conditions required to trigger the parking rule.
-
Add the locations (parking zone, parking spot, dock door, dock group) the shipment should be moved.
-
-
Click SAVE.
-
The parking spot rule is added to the rule list where it can be turned off/on, edited, or deleted.
When an arriving shipment meets the requirements of the parking spot rule, the shipment is automatically assigned to one of the locations associated with the parking rule.
