Convey Revised EDD Earlier Exception
Overview
A shipment in Convey x project44 will be flagged with the “Convey Revised Estimated Delivery Date (Earlier)” exception (if enabled for a Convey x project44 customers) each time a carrier changes its estimated delivery date (EDD) to a date that is earlier than the previously specified EDD.
Specifications

Convey x project44 may receive EDD updates from the carrier through both incoming carrier reports and actively scheduled tracking requests to the carrier’s APIs.

Convey x project44 will record the EDD associated with a shipment as soon as the first “In Transit” event has been received/recorded in Convey Last Mile.

NOTE: EDDs provided by carriers during label creation are frequently inaccurate, which is why Convey will only start recording EDDs once the shipment has received its first “In Transit” event

As the shipment progresses, Convey will actively compare (current) EDDs received from both carrier reports and tracking API requests with the previously recorded EDD. If the current EDD has changed to a date earlier than the previously recorded EDD, the shipment will be marked with the “Convey Revised Estimated Delivery Date (Earlier)” exception, unless one of the following scenarios is true:

The shipment has been marked as "Delivered"

The shipment has been marked as a "Return to Sender"

The shipment has been marked as "Damaged"

The shipment has been marked as "Consignee Refused"

If the “Convey Revised Estimated Delivery Date (Earlier)” exception is enabled for a customer account, the exception will be generated and exposed in the Convey x p44 App/UI and in the shipment events that are sent through the data-out API(s).

Enablement
The ability to generate this exception correctly is highly dependent on being able to receive quality data from the carrier(s) for the given account. Due to this pre-requisite, accounts must be individually evaluated and enabled for this Convey-generated exception type.
